BEST FREE ARCADE GAME

Vote here for the nominee that you feel is the best free Linux arcade game. You must be registered and logged on to vote. Registration is free, instantaneous, and there are no ugly strings attached. We require registration to reduce the possibility of abuse of the polls. We're not going to spam you or sell your information to anyone. Honest.

The nominees are:

  • Armagetron - A light-cycles game with great detailed graphics.



  • Chromium B.S.U. - A fast-paced vertically scrolling 2d shooter with OpenGL special effects.



  • Epiar - Space adventure and combat in a universe ruled by anarchy.



  • Frozen Bubble - This polished arcade game has great graphics, great music, great gameplay, and it's all done in Perl.



  • Glaxium - A 2D style arcade
    space shoot-em-up with 3D OpenGL special effects.`



  • glTron - Steer your lightcycle to avoid the trails left by your competitors and yourself.



  • Heroes - Maneuver a vehicle around the world, collecting powerups and avoiding obstacles including your own tail.



  • Jump 'n Bump - You're a cute little bunny and you have to avoid the other bunnies from stomping on you and at the same time try to stomp as many opponents as possible.



  • Kobo Deluxe - Fly around 2d space, destroying other ships, dodging bullets and destroying massive space platforms.



  • Koules - Knock the other bouncy balls off the screen without getting knocked off yourself.



  • LBreakout 2 - The definitive Breakout/Arkanoid implementation. Great graphics, sound and features.



  • Moon Lander - Attempt to land your moon lander without crashing.



  • Pachi el Marciano - A 2d run and jump platform game with great graphics



  • Powermanga - Old-school arcade space shoot-em-up.



  • Rocks 'n' Diamonds - Gather gems while avoiding rocks, monsters and other hazards.



  • Solar Wolf - Collect energy cubes from the defending guardians.



  • Tenmado - A unique vertically scrolling space
    shoot-em-up.



  • Tower Toppler - Help the cute green animal jump and run to get to the top of the tower.



  • Trackballs - Steer a marble through a 3d maze, avoiding obstacles.



  • Trophy - A 2D top-down car racing game with high-quality graphics.



  • TuxKart - Drive Tux around the Go-Kart track,
    collecting herring and powerups.



  • Vectoroids - A vector-based asteroid shooting game.



  • XBlast - Plant bombs and blow up the other players running through a 2d maze.

dont you guys think this is all mixed?? Xmame fits in the Emulators category, Xmame is not a game! you could put kof 99 or some xmame games, but they dont run in linux, THEY RUN ON XMAME!!!
then, there are much 3D games in this section, and why they arent in the 3d action games section??? i dont understand

XMAME has been removed from this category. It had 9 votes for it, which have been discarded.

Maelstrom, whose graphics and sound are non-free, has been moved to the Non-Free Arcade category.
