PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release a static build (for Linux) of the game. Getting the dependency's for this game is a nightmare.

add '-static' to all calls of gcc and g++ (gcc -static -o OUTPUT INPUT)

Then, I would suggest running 'strip -s' (strip -s INPUT) against the executables to trim out the uneeded stuff that gets pulled in with the libraries.

like think tanks? nice! posted by Anonymous @ 82.207.240.233 on Dec 18 2006 7:46 AM
i liked think tanks (the demo). if your game is gonna go in this direction, it may become very interesting. include some nice power ups, the bigger, the better, and make really nice maps where ppl can hide and where a good position makes a big difference, so that you have to sneak upon the other players etc. perhaps some tanks may have special items others dont have, like radar, shield, jumping, ... nice idea and looks promising!

The screenshot looks really good, but I can't be bothered to install all the required libraries for just one game. Is there any chance of a statically compiled binary for Linux?

It does look promising, yeah. I think I'll give it a shot, the art doesn't look too crash-hot right now, but, it /is/ only a 0.0.2 release, so, that's not much to worry about.

Unlike BZflag posted by Velmont @ 129.240.78.150 on Sep 25 2006 2:24 AM

The devs say this would play like «ThinkTanks». So this is a more «fun»-related game, than BZflag is. Arcade style. I've played BZflag a fair bit, and seen my brother playing ThinkTanks on his Mac - they are different games.

It does look promising, I hope the devs will stay with it and make it polished enough so my little sister can own me in it. :-)

Oh, I'd be really happy :) It's a so called "forced" project for our alma-mater, but we'll try to do our best to make it funny and nice. the problem is to find somebody that can make nice modells our hot tip has cowardly escaped to commercial sector :P So... try to find someone or modell something that we could use ;) Two devs od this "supergame" with two empty bottles of wine :d [Petko & Martin]
