  Gaaah... press key to fire... posted by Elvish_Pillager @ 68.184.38.106 on Jul 5 2006 6:59 AM 1
...press key a million times to fire a million times. That, and the game doesn't seem to have anything else going for it either.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Fast scrolling action. Two minor glitches: the lack of autofire and the low resolution. I'd suggest doing a gfx set with doubled resolution to make the game enjoyable on TFTs as well.

Nice little thing, but too small unfortunately. The gameplay is fine though. I'm sure in a few versions this game will grow to a buster.

After testing this game yesterday i think it's very promising.

Of course it will need better graphics, but the fun is here !

Oh, and please, add an autofire option, or this game will kill many keyboards ;-)

nice polish, it compiles and installs well without hassle, and runs nice. It has menus and so on. old style gfx (low resolution!).
Playability is not great, since the feel is quite too "hard", at least controlling by keyboard.
Great music, decent sound.
Overall, nice small game, not extremely funny so far.

  DD2 on Solaris Sparc/Keybindings... posted by georgie @ 64.36.73.34 on Mar 16 2003 9:03 PM 333
Hi! THe game compiles fine on Solaris 8/9 UltraSparc...! =) I'm not a programmer, what should I change in order to change the key binding for "fire" for player one? I only have 1 CONTROL key (the left one). The game definitively has a lot of potentials! if we could could double it's screen size...that would be very nice intead of lowering the resolution...! =) Cheers! Georgie's SOLARCADE

You can edit engine.c file and look form player[0] stuff. You'll find SDLK_CONTROL at line 92. Change it to otrer key (eg. SDLK_m).

Thanks for you success report :)

Is playing with the joystick supported? I changed the the line CONTROL_1=0 to CONTROL_1=1 in ~/.dd2rc, but that didn't seem to work.

Sorry, but that release has not joystick support enabled (I forgot to remove it from the docs).

Next release will have experimental joystick support enabled.

Looks like it has promise. Could use a "help" / splash screen to show the keys, though.

By now you should read the README file. I'm planning to allow keyboard setup via configuration screen. It's in the TODO list.
