Slick top-down 3D Tetris game

This is a Tetris-style blocks game where you build in 3D from a top-down view. You can customize the playing field size, the speed of the game, the "difficulty" of the pieces, etc. to suit your skill level as well.

I've been playing this game since 1991.. I was pretty sad when the web page for it finally disappeared.. but now its back! yay!

haha , woo , screwed that up didn't I?
*ahem* wrong year. . I was playing the dos version of this while I was at uni (92 - 94). I meant to type "2001" that I was playing the gtk1 version , not 1991. sorry , only 10 years off.

Excellent: just like blockout! The "new game" sound is a little bit irritating, but that's just minor. Built and installed perfectly on a Ximian GNOME desktop.

A slick and playable version of Blockout, the best 3D Tetris variant, with smooth and attractive graphics. A worthy addition to the Gnome desktop.

An enjoyable and different take on tetris. The GNOME frontend is slick as well. However this game is very hard and there's not really enough here to keep you playing for long.

If you like Blockout (Tetris in 3D) This game for you. The best FREE Blockout-clone across all operating systems including Windows! Compared with WinBlock (on Windows), this game wins handily, the animation/framerate is very smooth. Note: WinBlock is a good game too but it was last updated in 1998.

Excellent =) I love the flexibility, and it's actually quite fun once you get a hang of the controls. Definitely try it out even if you're not too fond of Tetris type games.
