Piano Booster Screenshot A midi file player the teaches you how to play the paino

Piano Booster is a new way to learn the piano just by playing a game.

It takes elements of the game Guitar Hero but now it uses a real Piano Keyboard and the game has been turned sideways so the notes scroll along a musical stave. So instead of pressing buttons on a fake guitar you end up learning to play a real musical instrument -- the piano.

First choose a MIDI file then select the "left" hand or the "right" hand or if you are feeling really brave choose "both hands" and try to play along. The "Follow You" mode make it really easy to sight read the scrolling notes as the whole accompaniment will stop and wait for you to find and play the right notes. The accuracy bar monitors how well you are playing.

Additional System Requirements: You need a midi piano keyboard connected to the PC

Very nice game, an idea would be to add options for playing in one clef only and/or more instruments like bass, guitar. This is great for learning and improving sight reading.

It's already there. Just don't play the other hand and it will play it for you.

I've played it with guitar and it works nicely. Just choose a part that makes sense, one hand, of course. Transposing it could also be helpful. To connect in the guitar you need something that can do guitar to MIDI. I used a Roland GR-33 along with a guitar that has a 13-pin out. If this program could show tab notation it would be awesome, but still, this is a fun program. I definitely recommend it.
