Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game

Runescape is a massive multiplayer adventure, with monsters to kill, quests to complete, and treasure to win. You control your own character who will improve and become more powerful the more you play. This isn't a game where everything that happens is pre-determined. What you do in the world is up to you!

You can go exploring, or earn a living practicing a craft such as cooking or crafting. Many of the characters in the game can give you quests to go on, each with different rewards. If you are brave you can search for riches in the dungeons or sewers but make sure you are well armed! Try your hand at archery, or learn some magic spells to give yourself an extra advantage.

The game is multiplayer which means you will meet many other people in the world who you communicate and trade with. Make new friends and go adventuring together to stand a better chance against the stronger monsters. Perhaps you want to make your money trading valuable goods with others. Or if you like taking risks, you can choose to fight with like-minded people to try and steal their treasure. There is also an expanded version of this game available for a monthly fee with more quests, monsters, skills, and items. You can still play with your friends on the free version if you like, too!

there are plenty of different games but a few good ones are mmoland.com, battleon.com, and dragonfable.com

Okay, for a serious question: Has anybody got runescape to run on linux. I'm running Firefox 1.5.0.2, and my java plugin version is 1.5_06. The game crashes during the load. Has anybody overcome this? I am running SuSE Linux 10.1 x86_64, and I've tried the SuSE java packages as well as the ones obtainable directly from SUN. Thanks, Chris

I'm sure this will piss off most of the rather childish people/trolls who post on this particular game, but it's gotta be said. This game is damn boring !!! And they won't even let you go most places unless you pay. I'd give it 1 star, but I reserve that for non-games, those games that are so bad they shouldn't even be called games, or they do something that pisses me off like ban an entire ISP. Oh and I almost forgot, the people that you are playing it with aren't very mature, you might not think it means much, but please do read through the rest of the posts here and convince yourself.
