Very fun game. Graphics could use a little retouch but otherwise it's great.

I am planning to do some better graphics when I have time, but it would be great if someone more talented wanted to do it.... richardj mentioned I could scale down the title graphic but I'd rather have a top-down view of a duck if I (or someone else) can make it look good.

Is it political game ? posted by Anonymous @ 83.14.123.172 on Nov 11 2007 10:34 PM
I remember old game Perestroika when you jump Democracy over law acts....when I was child, i was thinking thats a frog jumping over puddles. Now looking on that game, it reminds current situation in Poland when one of Twin Ducks has been changed for Donald. But i cannot find deeper corelations, so help is needed. And please dont search for sens in my post...

The influences on a creative mind are very complex. I can't rule out the fact that the political situation in Poland may have influenced me when I was in full creative flow. A poet (I like to think of myself as a kind of "code poet") can't always account for his creations by talking only about the thoughts in his conscious mind.

New version with more levels posted by Anonymous @ 81.168.74.144 on Nov 10 2007 12:16 AM
Hi All, I've released a new version which has 18 (count them!) levels. When you've finished them, please consider creating more and sending them in! Especially try to make really difficult ones... Andy

Hi I have just downloaded your game. When I see the "Intro Screens" display I have noticed that the sentence

You is a duck what can move walls, and you is in a maze, like

I think that would be better written in English as

You are a duck that can move walls, and you are in a maze. Can you escape?

I also think that your large picture of a duck could be scaled down and used as the main game sprite, instead of the yellow circle. Also how do you get past level 6? Puzzle games are just too hard for me ;(

Hi richardj, The bad English is a joke. Sorry if it's not funny :) To get past level 6: try, try and try again...

Thanks for the feedback posted by andybalaam @ 195.217.233.178 on Jan 22 2007 3:31 AM
Hi everyone, I'm the author of this game, and I really appreciate your comments! I have written a few new levels, and I will try to make a new release soon, but it would be great if people sent me levels they have designed! Also, I'd like feedback on how difficult the levels are so I know what order to put them in. I'll try to remember to check back here for your comments, or feel free to email duckmaze-devel at lists dot sourceforge dot net. (You can send levels there too.) Thanks again, and enjoy! Andy Balaam P.S. I've also answered individual comments/questions above.

I used to have a little LCD game, which I think was called 'Bank Raid', which was basically the same as this (although with less ducks). I loved that game, and I love this game, although you need a lot more levels before it's going to be any sort of a challenge.

will we be able to contribute levels?

Yes, please do! You can use the built-in level editor. There are instructions on the web site. At the moment, testing you levels is a bit fiddly, but I will fix this in a future version.

Nice concept, nice clean design(I especially like the menu, maybe not so much the "boot splash duck" though , sorry ;-) ), keep up the good work!

What do you mean the boot spalsh duck? The title screens are supposed to be fun, but I would be really happy if someone made something better...

I just thought it was "inconsistent" with the design of the rest of the game, i.e the graphical "feel" in-game and menu. Notice: I thought. I Didn't mean to put down the duck per se.

Good to see this game. I'm puzzle fan. Simple idea, simple graphics, simple and good implementation, just needing some more levels and complicated solutions. Good side is that the game got a quite good built in level editor. Maybe High Score list levels solved with least moves/time. Maybe changing the colors after 10 or so levels for eye-candy ;)
I give 2 stars for the 0.1 version.

Thanks for the comments! I have started making the levels change colour (this will be in the next version) and I am trying to create more levels. Please help - especially if you think of good ideas for hard levels - it's quite tricky.

A high score list could be done if people thought it was a good idea. Would other people like this? I tend to think that with a puzzle game it's mainly about solving it, rather than doing it quickly. Comments?

Yes, all the graphics are "stand-ins" at the moment until someone talented creates some better ones! I was thinking of taking photos of rubber ducks, but I'm not sure that will turn out well. I am also going to include sound effects and music eventually.
